Lovely relaxed experience

Daniel_p, Nov 2025

This was such a nice change of pace. We had a very busy few days in tokyo leading up to this tour. Being driven through the country side filled with autumn leaves, with stunning views of Fuji was just the break we needed. There's a bunch of stops along the way and loads of great information. Only bummer was we had to skip the gondola ride due to heavy winds in that area, but that's the chances you take with this kind of tour. Our guide Izumi (who was wonderful, and quite funny) made up for however by getting us first class boat tickets, and taking us to an additional site, not originally part of the tour but still beautiful. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend.

Satisfory

Howard_W, Nov 2025

I was told we were supposed to be picked up by bus at 8:30 ,I waited about 20 minutes, talked to a fellow at the desk to call tour company and happened he saw a lady looking for us to take us to another hotel for the bus to pick us up ,got on the bus was full and I couldn’t seat with my wife which is ok but sat with another lady and she sat on my quarter of my seat and on return trip I had to pay my way to back to Toyko I asked why and couldn’t understand her while she gave tickets to all the orther people.

Above the clouds to Mt. Fuji.

PollyannaDeSouza, Oct 2025

We were very pleased with the exceptional handling by the tour operators on the ground. We arrived early at the meeting point and were taken by taxi to meet others at a second meeting point at a nearby hotel. Once we got onto the tour bus the journey was comfortable and pleasant. The driver was great as he controlled the bus very well and avoided a collision with a deer that jumped onto the road as we were driving up to Mt. Fuji station #5. The Mt. Fuji stop was the highlight of this tour. The tour guide did her best to give us some highlights of places along the journey and gave insightful guidance at places of interest. Didn't think too much about the late lunch or the pirate boat lake cruise. The Hakone Sky Gondola ride was best when it reached the peak at Owakudani valley. The black eggs? Will have to wait 14 years before commenting on that. Always love bullet train rides and the tour guide made sure that we all boarded that train back to Tokyo. Thank you for a wonderful tour!

Our experience was wonderful and outstanding, our tour guide Yuki was very knowledgeable of the sites we visited. She made an effort to assist us with all our needs and answered all Our questions.

Amaging!!!

Brenda_C, Oct 2025

I am so glad I booked this tour! The tour guide and driver did an excellent job! We had our luggage with us as we were staying in Hakone after the tour. Yoshi, the tour operator was kind enough to ask where I was staying in Hakone and ensure I could get to my hotel from where the boat docked. He called the head and communicated all of the steps to me, this was above and beyond service! We then took the tour and everything was very efficient. The tour guide informed us of all the places we were going in the history. At the end of the tour, she called the head to the hotel and walked me to the bus that I needed to take to get to the hotel. I can’t thank you enough for your amazing service.

Incredible Mt Fuji Experience

AbizerTapya, Sep 2025

This itinerary ticks all the boxes for a one day Mount Fuji Tour. good clean bus. Very informative interaction with the Guide IZUMI. She went out of the way to teach us about the language, cultures and the information on of the places we were to visit. The places visited were so amazing that the time offered did not make justice. wish we had more time in each place. Nice Japanese lunch. Very Tasty. Liked the Japanese dinning sitting experience. A must do for anyone visiting Japan and Tokyo.

Rashida_T, Sep 2025

The tour was too long. We spent a lot of time on the coach. It took us 3 hours with all the pick ups and then to get only 30 mins at Mount Fuji. Not enough time at all. Wanted to go to the gift shop and send a post card but just not enough time. Very rushed, disappointed, you need at least an hour. Our guide led us through all the activities nicely. You have to make your own way back to the hotel from the station. She did give us directions which was good.

Highly recommend - if you do one trip, do this one!

dawnm.., July 2025

Fabulous day out. Only thing I would change is to have a little more time to look around at Mt Fuji. But that's a very minor thing. The whole day was very well organised, so many awe-inspiring experiences packed into one day. The tour guide Misha made a fantastic day even better, teaching us to count to 100 in Japanese and to make Mt Fuji out of origami, and generally going above and beyond in caring for our well-being and the quality of our experience. Best bit of the day - travelling by cable car over an active volcano!!

A Fantastic Day Out with a Terrific Tour Guide

J3697X.., July 2025

A fantastic experience all round. We drove up to Mt. Fuji where we took some great photos and bought some souvenirs, relaxed in Gotemba Peace Park, and experienced the sulphur vents at Owakudani Valley. My partner especially enjoyed the ride over the sulphur vents in the Sky Gondola and my son and I couldn’t stop taking photos while on the Pirate Boat. It was all topped off with a ride on the Bullet Train, which was something I have always wanted to experience. All in all, a great day out, but it was made even better by the tour guide, who was excellent, and far better than we could have ever expected.

Recommended Mt. Fuji tour in English

dianne_D, June 2025

Our tour guide Yoshi was excellent. He told us many interesting facts about Japan and Japanese culture. He made sure everyone on the tour had what they needed. Lunch was delicious at a local restaurant ( I would recommend ordering the tour with lunch). We saw so much more on the tour than we would have seen on our own. We loved the apple pie Yoshi recommended and the black eggs. Additional activities included a gondola ride and pirate ship trip.

It’s a very long day, and you so much of your time on the bus. Once you get to a destination it does feel rushed. I wish we had more time at Mt. Fuji even though it was cloudy, however the entire experience was fun despite that. Our tour guide was also friendly and entertaining.

Fantastic day out with lots of experiences & sightseeing

NevaGae_S, Apr 2025

We had a wonderful day with Yokiko and the 2 best coach drivers ever today. Communication with the tour coordinator prior to the tour was clear & concise. On the day our guide was excellent in her organisation, presentation, communication and entertainment, including many fun stories through the day. We thought the schedule was well paced and great value for money.

Great tour, when you need to cover Fuji and around in a touristy fashion.

Sudhir_G, Apr 2025

A bus picked us up at our pickup location. Watch for the message on exact pickup time (our pickup was 30 minutes after what it had mentioned on tour voucher). English guide was provided, and she guided us not just for the trip but even after the trip actively showing us where and how to change trains. As is expected with a bus tour like this, you have limited but enough time at each location. Was a good experience overall. The day we went, Roads to Mount Fuji were closed due to snow, so the tour took us to a lake instead.

This was such a great tour, saw so many things. It’s hard to believe that they could offer so much for such a low price. And to top it off we got to ride the bullet train back to Tokyo. We only have 4 days here so it’s nice to fit so much into 1 day,

Naomi_M, Dec 2024

This was a great overall tour of Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Our tour guide was delightful and friendly. The stops at each location were a little too quick; wanted a little more time to explore and take photos, but with all that the tour packed into the day it was well worth it. We had beautiful weather and were able to go to the 5th level to see a spectacular view of snowcapped Mt. Fuji. The hotpot lunch in Hakone was delicious.

Classic route, high quality, & focus on the experience

Lin_R, Dec 2024

I compared many Mt. Fuji day trips that depart from Tokyo, and I always came back to this tour even though it was at a higher price than some other options and providers. This tour was well thought of that covered a few classic areas with a focus on the experience (not just social media photo spots). Our guide, Ms. 三上Mi kami, was so sweet, super well organized, managed time well, provided great information about the areas we were visiting, and lead a few activities to keep the group entertained and engaged. We chose to return to Tokyo by bullet train, which only took us about 40 minutes to Tokyo Station instead of spending approximately 2-2.5 hours on the same bus back. Lunch (optional, depending on the package of your choice) was fresh and good (not fabulous but a B tier—personal opinion). The paying child received the same meal. Pick up communication: The only one thing I wish would have been improved was the meet up/pick up communication. Although I received multiple confirmation and trip reminders prior to the day, I didn’t get any information regarding when and where the pick up would be. I chose a hotel in Ginza that was near my hotel for the pick up location. The tour confirmation says my trip was at 8:30am, but digging into the Grayline tour’s website, there is a timetable showing each available pic up hotel’s meet up time. Based on the timetable, my pick up time should be 8:55am. I didn’t want to take a chance and got to the meet up hotel at the earlier time. Just when I started to get anxious, our guide showed up in the lobby. I spotted her first because she was holding some brochures and a clip board. After gathering the other few participants, we left the hotel at exactly 8:55am. I wish there was a note on the booking confirmation and trip reminders that referred to the hotel timetable. Overall, it was a great trip, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to see the best of Mt. Fuji and the unique nature near it.

Save your money

Gillian_M, Nov 2024

A long long day, and in all honesty wouldn't go again. You see mount fuji from a distance after 2 1/2 hours on a bus, then a gondola ride over stinky sulfa and on to a pirate ship. There must be better ways to see mount fuji A long cold disappointing day

Pleasant experience. Hope you don’t get a shy day!

Pleasant experience. Host was lovely -sweet, funny and educational. Nice being picked up at hotel. Lots of travelling … if you happen to get a shy Mt. Fuji day. Hakone activities were fine, but not that exciting.

And you make the best of it.

GailA_M, Oct 2024

The guide did an excellent job in managing the disappointment of the tourists. S the was informative, humorous, empathetic but gracious. Unfortunately, pouring down rain and crazy wind prevented us from enjoying Mt.Fuji Station 5, Black Egg, overhead gondolas and shrine (backup). The boat ride was okay, although overbooked (standing outside, no seats). Lunch was very good. More than enough to eat. Several wonderful guests from East Coast, South, California and Toronto. They made it feel okay that it is what it is. Got to help take a cool photo of another guest/Black Egg. And I got one too. Not perfect but true to what was happening. Haha Ride back on non reserved Shinkansen was perfect. Was I disappointed yes, but the Greyline can’t guarantee perfect weathet. It’s the second time we’ve used them here in Japan. And their service did not disappoint.

Great Experience

Frances_G, Oct 2024

Our tour guide Izumi was so informative and so kind. She made sure the group stuck together getting on and off the Gondola. The weather on Mount Fuji was cloudy and we could not see the summit. Once we were on the Gondola in Hanoke we had the best view. The Ashi lake cruise was beautiful even though it was at sunset. It would of been good if the tour started earlier like 7.30am and then the lake cruise would be in daylight. Also advise people of the weather conditions being 10 to 15 degrees colder than Tokyo. We loved the day, it's worth it.

★★★★

good tour

Jorge_L, Oct 2024

Despite the very bad weather, the tour was nice and enjoyable, the meal was excellent and the guide, Mr. Yoshi, was very kindy and helpful. We were a bit afraid of not being able to find the meeting point, but at the end it was quite easy (with google maps you can go anywhere in Tokyo's main area).

Highly recommended. Great tour.

Fiona_M, Oct 2024

Hotel pickup was a bonus, not having to find our way to the pickup point during peak hour travel. The guide was excellent. She spoke very good English and her commentary during the tour was informative and interesting. The tour group was small and everything ran smoothly and on time. The lunch was delicious.

Great tour.

Lissette_B, Sep 2024

The trip to Mount Fuji was great. It was cloudy so we couldn’t see the peak but otherwise it was wonderful. My guide Mi Kami was especially wonderful. Very informed and intuative. Kept us busy with activities. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting japan.

Fantastic experience

Michelle_H, Aug 2024

Our tour guide Yukiko and the 2 bus drivers were more than fantastic. They took great care of the entire tour group and really wanted to make sure we all had the best experience. From the hotel pickup to directing us where to go on the return train ride, it was very easy! We did encounter unexpected traffic which delayed our day by about an hour but it was still wonderful. I highly recommend!

Yoshi, our tour guide, was wonderful! He shared a lot of information about Japan and had us do a simple origami for Mt. Fuji. I was happy with the whole tour experience and our only disappointment was not seeing Fuji due to the cloud cover. A perfect one day tour!
